Where were you when the world stopped turning?

September 11, 2001 changed all of us.

As a First Responder Family, we remember.

We remember where we were.
Who we were with.
What we were doing when the ordinary suddenly became unimaginable.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of the first responders, military members, volunteers, and ordinary people who stepped forward when their fellow human beings needed them most.

But today, we want to ask a different question:

What have you done since then to make the lives of others better?

Have you offered a helping hand when you could have walked away?
Have you forgiven someone?
Have you raised your children to choose kindness over hatred?
Have you served your community?
Have you stood beside someone who was hurting?
Have you made someone's darkest day a little brighter?

We cannot change what happened on September 11th.

But we can decide what happens because of how we choose to live afterward.

Let our remembrance be more than a moment of silence. Let it be a lifetime of action.

Because the best way to honor the lives we lost is to make the lives we still have matter. It's our place to teach the next generation what "never forget" means.
