"Am I a witch"????

That question has been very popular lately. You ready for the answer?

~ That depends on your definition of the word witch!!!!!
Before the word witch became something to fear, it was often the women who knew the land.
She was the herbalist who gathered plants to ease pain. The midwife who welcomed babies into the world. The healer who brewed teas for coughs, salves for burns, and tonics for weary bodies. She was the keeper of stories, seasons, and generations of knowledge.
Throughout history, women who were different, outspoken, independent, or simply knowledgeable were sometimes labeled "witches." Many weren't practicing magic at all—they were caregivers, herbalists, healers, and wise women whose understanding of nature made others uneasy.
Today, I don't wear the title because of spells or superstition. I wear it as a reminder of those women, including 2 grandmothers who faced the witch accusation, one talked herself out of the noose, one did not. This is about women who trusted the wisdom of the earth, cared for their communities, and refused to let knowledge be forgotten.
So here's to the herbalists. The healers. The tea makers. The women who gathered around the cauldron to heal their communities.
Sometimes the most powerful kind of magic is simply caring for one another.
