My mama, my mama, my mama... The first time she put her education on hold was to have me 🥹. After the birth of her last baby, she returned to Concordia University. She graduated in ‘98 with her Bachelors Degree, Majoring in Communications and a Minor in Criminal Justice. Now FF… where her eldest child is 36 and youngest is 27, almost a full 30 years later… she went to finish the race.

Yesterday my amazing mother graduated from Lamar University. Earning her Masters Degree in Business Administration with a 4.0 GPA and with honors. She lived a life of sacrifice for her kids. What a treat it is for me to see her dreams being fulfilled after what she sacrificed for myself and my sisters. Who woulda thought that little girl born to parents with 3rd and 8th grade educations, on 16th and Hadley, would have accomplished all this? The answer to that question… EVERYONE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO KNOW HER.

Tenacious, Resilient, Brilliant, Bold, Beautiful, Hardworking, Intelligent…. Just a few words to describe my beautiful mother. I love you from this life to the next mama.
