We're thrilled to see The Seattle Times spotlight The Supper Club at The Watermark at Bellevue, a resident-led group that has quickly become one of the community's favorite traditions.

What began as one resident's idea has grown into monthly evenings filled with great food, conversation, laughter, and new friendships. As resident Roberta Watson shared, "Food was the constant connector," and that spirit is at the heart of every gathering.

What if, for just a few minutes, you could experience the world through the eyes of someone living with dementia?

In recognition of Alzheimer's Awareness Month, The Watermark at Vistawilla partnered with ComForCare Home Care last month to host a Virtual Dementia Tour for family members and associates. Through sensory simulations, participants experienced firsthand some of the everyday challenges people living with dementia may face.

"While challenging, the experience can provide valuable insight for loved ones and caregivers," shared Kimberly D**e, Resident Experience Director at The Watermark at Vistawilla. "The goal is that they have increased understanding of the disease and how it affects people, as well as greater empathy for individuals living with cognitive impairment."

Experiences like these remind us that understanding begins with empathy. By creating opportunities for education and perspective, we're helping families and caregivers build deeper connections with the people they love.
