It’s a 10th birthday kind of day. Happy birthday Natalee! 💕🎉

Today we celebrated 10 years with this blonde, big-hearted, serious, always the first to comment girl of ours.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since my water broke on the bathroom floor at 2:45 am and I was mopping it up with towels while screaming at Nate to wake up. Funny story... I had to shake him awake.

2 epidurals and one bruised baby later we had our first precious angel in our arms.

I’m not going to lie this birthday has been a hard one for me to reconcile since last fall.

This is the decade I will send this child into the world as an adult. This decade we have had with her has been amazing.

From near death (literally) to pure joy.

Nate & I wouldn’t be able to do life without this one. She’s going to move mountains and while I can wait to watch it happen I know I’ll be in the front row awestruck.

Here’s to the happiest birthday for the girl who showed me what true love really is.

Our oldest child. She’s light, she’s bright, she’s full of life. 💕

Lately she’s really taken an interest in cooking. Something I have enjoyed for years if left alone is cooking.

Give me a glass of wine, a playlist on shuffle and a recipe I really want to cook and I’m down.

But adding another human in the mix and allowing them to take some of the control freaked me out.

Until I realized that she’s wanting to be part of something I find so soulful.

To share something like this with her is to me like the love I share with my husband.

Each individual connection we make sparks something inside of us.

I hope this desire to cook morphs into something more for her. Something she enjoys doing not something she has to do to survive.

And the best part... here’s to homeschool math, science, history and art lessons with food.

Have you ever visited the Malpais or lava flow in New Mexico?

We had a little side quest just off the highway to see this 5000 year old lava flow.

If you are headed towards White Sands on US 54 S or north out of Alamogordo on US 54 then you HAVE to stop here.

It’s 4 miles west on 380. There’s a campground that has water and electric for $18 per night.

We had a fun little walk through learning about this lava flow and how it wasn’t from a volcano but instead came up out of the cracks in the ground.

Geologists estimate it flowed for 30 years. It flowed for 45 miles and was up to 165 feet thick in places.

Now it’s teeming with life including Juniper tress that are 400 years old.

The Valley of Fire has always drawn me in and yet we’ve driven past here a half a dozen times and never knew it was there.

Have you been? @ Valley of Fire National Recreation Area

I’m still trying to adjust to this Arizona heat. Today was 109 with less than 20% humidity. The wind blowing upwards of 15 mph feels like a hair dryer blowing your entire body. I know I need to drink more water and I’m still trying to figure out how to do that. But there’s one thing that I will never get used to... and that’s these southwest sunsets. They are the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever witnessed.

Nate’s humor is what attracted me to him so many years ago.

If you meet us in person you may not see Nate’s quirky behavior right away but deep down he’s pretty funny. And not just funny but witty.

We met in science class. He sat a couple of rows over from me but I could feel the electricity from across the room. His devious smile was all it took.

He’s never admitted it but I think his main goal in life is to make me laugh and he’s pretty darn good at it.

Even traveling in a small space for a year and we still managed to laugh constantly.

Find the humor in everyday. That’s one of our main goals in life.

Mobile RV repair services seems to be a hot topic in our inbox lately. We’ve published a number of repair videos on our YouTube channel and talked openly on social media about our bouts of trouble with repairs we’ve had to make on our RV.

Since we haven't personally hired a mobile RV repair tech we reached out to an actual tech to give you the lowdown.

I’m bringing you Mobile RV Mechanic, Bryan Carbonnell from Tech-Reational Vehicle Services, Inc. He’s a certified NRVIA RV Inspector and he’s got the answers you seek!

A Mobile RV Repair Service is just what the name implies. It is an RV Repair person that is mobile. It means that they come to where ever you are.

Happy Birthday to our main man.

Without you I’d be lost. Laughing, adventuring, parenting with you is my greatest joy.

Here’s to another year around the sun. I can’t wait to be back out adventuring and celebrate your birthday somewhere remote next year.

NOR•MAL: (adjective) conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.

I feel like normal depends on who is defining it.

What is normal? How I choose to live and how you choose to live could be defined by 2 different people as abnormal.

I’m listening to a book right now by Mel Robbins all about taking control of your life by overcoming your fears.

We have big dreams to continue our as defined by us “normal” life... because we want to travel more.

We want to hop on planes and discover faraway countries, pull up into remote locations in the RV and drop the jacks, pull up anchor and sail to remote locations.

Nothing in our sticks and bricks life right now will last forever because we have big goals and dreams and there’s too much life to live.

We made the hard choice to not put our kids in a traditional school this coming year because quite honestly we don’t want to be tied down.

So our overarching goals are:

1️⃣ Heather needs to grow her business
2️⃣ Pay off our debt
3️⃣ Save a ton of money
4️⃣ Nate quits his job
5️⃣ Spend the next 3 years exploring the US
6️⃣ Save a crap ton more money
7️⃣ Buy a boat/learn to sail

I was afraid to say our dream out loud except for in private chats with friends because I don’t want to fail and I was afraid of being judged.

But life is a journey and if it takes us longer to sail then it takes us longer.

All of this is to say... don’t allow someone else’s normal define yours.

Don’t allow your fear to keep you from voicing your dreams into the world.

Don’t let your debt or ability to make an income keep you stuck.

Define your own normal.

Summers in the desert are no joke. You get out in the morning otherwise you wait until late evenings to go outside.

Unless maybe you already live in the desert and you’re used to it.... 😂

I can’t count how many hours I have spent filtering through RV forums after something disastrous has happened to our coach.

Wheeling To Dream - Our Story

We’re on a pretty amazing adventure together. We are 4 people who have dreams beyond what a normal suburban life could provide us. In 2018 we decided to buy an RV and begin the process of selling our possessions so we could travel full-time.

Our main reason behind this journey is to be together and not allow society to tell us who we are, what we can do or what we’re capable of. We want to live our life now and not wait for retirement to start living it.

Before our current life began we met in high school. We are one of those crazy stories you hear about where the couple met, fell in love, got married and had kids all before they turned 25. In fact, we were done having kids by 25. We had bought our first home, the cars and toys then filled that house with everything we thought we were supposed to.

Then it hit us that this wasn’t what life was really all about.
