Hey friends! If you’re a resident of Little Egg Harbor you might receive a text message that includes a photo of a woman who looks an awfully lot like me, running for Little Egg Harbor Township Committee, only using a different name.
But rest assured, it IS me! And I AM running for the office of Township Committee in Little Egg Harbor, along with my buddy, Gabe!
Why the different name? Well, I’ve gone by Danielle my entire life. My first name, the one on my Puerto Rican birth certificate, is Leah! Official paperwork and all that being what it is means I’m “Leah” on the ballot. I’ve had to explain this fun fact about me throughout my life, in two languages, no less; often with a long, drawn-out back story that goes back to the 1960s. You can expect the same over-explanation about pretty much everything. Including this.
All the same, you can call me whatever you want, but I hope you’ll call me CommitteeLady-Elect this November. Gabe and I will provide the very kind of action, transparency and accessibility to within our local government that every resident wants and needs. We hope to do that by:
✔️Protecting your privacy and our beautiful land from the scourge of Data centers and the prying eyes of Flock cameras.
✔️Making it easier for small businesses to operate within our community by removing redundancy and lowering costs to the town and business owners.
✔️Celebrate our town and everyone in it by creating opportunities where local youth, seniors, neighbors, students, and local organizations can come together. Let’s start a chess club, or a Pride chapter! The Little Egg Harbor Bird Watching Society and Bird-Calling Enthusiasts has a nice ring to it.
Want to see an outdoor, adult gym at the playground, so you have something to do while watching your kids as they make themselves dizzy? Or at the Skate Park? Let’s talk about it! Let’s talk about permanent Turtle Crossing signs. Let’s talk about getting more for our tax dollars. Let’s get jazzed about the things we can do. I know I am! And you should be, too!
