💙 What a difference a day can make.

This morning, we woke up to an AQI of 917. The air was hazardous, the lake had disappeared behind a wall of smoke, and it wasn't safe for us to be outside.

Tonight, we're looking out at Lake Vermilion again.

The air has improved to AQI 86 (Moderate), we can see across the lake, and it's finally okay to spend (some) time outdoors again.

We know conditions can change quickly, but tonight we're grateful for cleaner air, a beautiful view, and the chance to reopen tomorrow.

We can't wait to see everyone at the Y-Store in the morning on Saturday July 18 at 7:00 AM! ☕🦥

Today the air quality has reached the Hazardous category with an AQI of 917.

For the health and safety of our family, Pour A Vida will be closed again. 😭

Our intentions today is to be helpful, if the incoming rain clears the smoke out we will open as soon as it is safe.

Our gratitude continues to go out to all of the emergency workers. 🙏

⚠️ Pour A Vida Update, Thursday, July 16

This morning, our air quality has reached the Hazardous category with an AQI of 416.

For the health and safety of our family, especially with asthma in our household, Pour A Vida will remain closed today.

We're disappointed not to see everyone this morning, but no cup of coffee is worth risking anyone's health.

To all of the firefighters, EMS, dispatchers, law enforcement, and emergency personnel working through these conditions, thank you. We are so grateful for everything you're doing to protect our communities.

If you're staying home today, one of the best things you can do is improve your indoor air quality. Yesterday I shared information about building a Corsi-Rosenthal Box, a simple DIY air purifier that can make a big difference during wildfire smoke events. I'll share that information in the comments for anyone who may find it helpful.

Please take care of yourselves, stay indoors if you can, and we hope to see everyone again soon.

❤️ We are incredibly humbled by this. Thank you, Greenwood Township Fire & EMS, for your kind words!

Supporting the people protecting our communities is the least we can do.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 16, we'll once again be offering a free drink to any firefighter, EMS personnel, or emergency responder actively working the wildfires. We'll be open from 7:00 AM–12:00 PM (air quality permitting).

Thank you to everyone working long hours to keep our communities safe, and to our customers who helped pay it forward by purchasing drinks for first responders today. Your kindness means more than you know!

Please continue to keep everyone responding to these fires in your thoughts.

🦥 Wildfire Smoke Update July 15, 2026

In just the last hour, our air quality has gone from "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" to "Very Unhealthy." With the forecast continuing to worsen, we'll be closing at 11:00 AM today before it gets Hazardous.

Even with the smoky start to the day, we're incredibly grateful to have served 30 amazing customers, including several firefighters working hard to protect our communities. It was our honor to help fuel your day with a little caffeine. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who stopped by this morning, and thank you for understanding our decision to close early.
