Our dear friend Sarah Tompkins was severely injured in the explosion at Robbins Lumber. She is a paramedic and Chief of Searsmont Rescue, as well as a very passionate farmer. You have enjoyed the greens she and Hubert grow at the Carriage House. We are finding ways to support Sarah and Hubert during this time that will make a difference. One way we can do this is a week of fundraising at The Uproot Pie Company and Carriage House.

Our dear friend Sarah - farmer, EMT, and all around extraordinary human being has a long road to recovery after the Searsmont fire. While helping others at the mill, Sarah was badly hurt herself.

Intrepid Uprooters troubleshooting a broken truck on our second outing with the ovens (it was mentioned this just might be our version of a trust fall).

Despite the failed fuel pump and my last minute travels, we had quite a successful opening week!
Selling out at the Rockland Farmers Market (please preorder bialys!!) and hosting over 200 of you at our Garden Party at the Carriage House was just the tonic my little heart needed so thank you for your continued support.

✨This week we’ll be at the Thursday 9-1 & open at the Carriage House Thursday + Friday 4-8 pm.

It wasn’t the spring trip I’d hoped for, but I’m just crossing the state line into Maine after flying down to Florida three weeks ago while my dad was in emergency surgery.

He’s recovering back in Florida’s but I’m home to open up the Uproot this week for our fifteenth season. I’m excited to be home, to fire those ovens, and distract myself with making you all some pizza!

I’ll be here this week then fly back down to drive him home once he’s strong enough. If you want to catch me I’ll be at the this Thursday and at our Garden Party at the Carriage House on Friday.

The biggest thank you to the Uproot team for getting everything out of storage and set up while I was gone. It’s no easy task and if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be open this week. 💙

I’ll be tired but I can’t wait to see you.
