This morning was about so much more than a walk. ❤️

We are incredibly thankful that we had the opportunity to come alongside Loving Hands Ministries for the Save Our Sons Walk for Addiction this morning.

The work Loving Hands is doing in our community is truly incredible. Hearing the testimonies of lives that have been changed, families that have been impacted, and men who have found freedom and a new way of life was powerful. It was such a beautiful reminder that recovery is possible, hope is real, and lives can be restored.

But the mission isn't over just because the walk is. Loving Hands is still approximately $13,000 short of their fundraising goal, and there is still time to help.

If you weren't able to walk today, or if you simply feel led to support the work they're doing, please consider making a donation. Every gift helps Loving Hands continue reaching men and families affected by addiction.

🥩 A LITTLE BRISKET 101 🔥

Ever wondered what you’re looking at when we hand you a slice of brisket?

🔴 That pink ring? That’s the smoke ring; a reaction that happens during the wood-smoking process.

🥩 Lean or fatty? A whole brisket has two muscles. The flat is leaner with a firmer bite, while the point has more marbling, making it richer, softer and juicier. Neither is better! It just depends on what you like!

🔥 That dark outside? That’s the bark, not burnt. It develops from seasoning, smoke, heat and time.

⏰ And brisket takes TIME. Ours can spend 12-16+ hours smoking low & slow over a real wood fire, followed by an 8+ hour rest and hold before we slice it. That long cook helps break down connective tissue, while the extended rest is an important part of getting that tender, juicy final product.

That means the brisket on your plate may have been 20+ hours in the making.

No shortcuts. Just wood, fire, smoke & time. 🔥

Pulled pork gets a little extra love around here. 🐷🔥

It starts with our homemade seasoning, gets smoked low & slow over real wood on our reverse-flow smoker, and then comes one of our favorite parts…

After we pull it, we toss it with our secret “pork sauce.” 👀

We’re not giving away what’s in it, but that little finishing touch adds moisture, flavor and makes sure every bite of pork is just as good as the last.

Homemade seasoning. Real wood smoke. A little secret sauce.

That’s how we do pulled pork at Better Together BBQ. 🔥

That means addiction has touched nearly every family, friend group, workplace, church, and community in some way.

That's why the Save Our Sons Walk for Addiction, hosted by Loving Hands Ministries, is so important.

On Saturday, August 15th, our community has the opportunity to come together to raise awareness, offer hope, and support individuals and families affected by addiction.

Every step taken is a reminder that recovery is possible, lives can be restored, and no one has to face the journey alone.

Better Together BBQ is honored to support this incredible event by providing breakfast for the walkers, and we hope you'll join us in supporting this mission.
