🇵🇪🥔✨ Three days, four states, and one mission: celebrating Peru.
This weekend, I traveled through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and back to Orlando, all for one very special reason: to participate in the International Day of the Potato celebration, organized by the Permanent Mission of Peru to the United Nations. It was a true honor to be invited to this important event held at the Residence of the Consul General of Peru in New York, where we had the opportunity to connect with diplomats, representatives of various organizations, and people who appreciate our culture, while showcasing one of the greatest treasures of our country.
As many of you know, Peru is home to more than 3,800 varieties of potatoes—a cultural and agricultural heritage that fills us with pride and deserves to be recognized around the world. Through gastronomy, we were able to demonstrate the versatility and richness of this remarkable product.
I was also incredibly proud to represent Peru with my alfajores, which were received with so much warmth and enthusiasm. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our flavors, traditions, and history connect with so many people.
My sincere thanks to Ambassador Juan Pablo Vegas for making this celebration possible, as well as PROMPERÚ New York, under the leadership of Rosario Pajuelo, for their support and commitment to promoting our culture and gastronomy.
A very special thank you as well to my fellow chefs, Neri, Magaly, and Jorge. Even though we are all extremely busy with our own projects and businesses, we always make time when it comes to representing our cuisine and proudly carrying Peru's name wherever we go. Sharing this experience with you was a privilege and another reminder that when it comes to our country, we are always ready to contribute.
Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable experience possible. I return home with wonderful memories, new friendships, and the satisfaction of continuing to promote Peru with pride.
