These will be blooming soon
Japanese honeysuckle flowers are powerfully antimicrobial and are one of the most widely used medicinals in the world.
Honeysuckle is native to Asia, where it is often used for colds, flu and infections in general. It is strongly antibacterial and antiviral.
The flowers can be picked in bud form, and also after they have opened, and tinctured fresh in alcohol. Honeysuckle flowers are also effective as a tea; I combine them with mint and lemon balm to mask their slight bitterness.

*Please research any new herb and consult your health care providers for possible drug/herb contraindications and precautions before ingesting. Be sure of your identification before ingesting any plant or mushroom. Make sure you only pick this species; other honeysuckles are not necessarily safe or used medicinally in the same fashion. Do not ingest the berries because they are poisonous.
