Get your 4th of July donuts now, and re-heat them in the microwave, the air-fryer, the oven, a cast-iron pan, or over the camp fire!! Here are the best ways to re-heat your sourdough donuts:

The Microwave
Place the donut on a microwave-safe plate and heat it for 5 to 10 seconds. Do not overheat, or the glaze will turn into a sticky mess or the dough will become rubbery.

The Oven / Toaster Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F. Place the donuts on a lined baking sheet and heat them for 3 to 5 minutes. Watch them closely so the sugar glaze doesn't burn.

The Air Fryer
Set your air fryer to 325°F and heat the donut for 1 to 2 minutes. This creates a wonderful crispness on the outside while softening the sourdough crumb on the inside.

Cast Iron Pan
Place your cast iron skillet over medium-low heat. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt until it is sizzling and foaming, but not yet browned. Carefully lay the donuts in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for about 1 to 2 minutes. Check the bottom; when it is a deep golden brown and the sugar begins to caramelize, flip the donuts over. Cook for another 1 minute on the other side. Remove the donuts from the pan and let them cool on a wire rack for 2 minutes. This allows the caramelized sugar glaze to cool and harden into a perfect, crunchy shell.
