Good Food, Good Place and Good Service.
Are you guys open today?
Enjoyed our visit today! Love, love, love how Mary interacts with the customers...especially my Mom 💖 Thank you for the great service and wonderful experience. I appreciate you all. BTW, that Malibu Chicken Sandwich is BOMB! Was pretty happy with the Bacon Cheeseburger today as well! My son, Conner, was quite impressed with the Mexican Sub! Keep up the great work Riverside Cafe!
I picked up my order of 2 dozen pork tamales (red) this afternoon. I ate one on the way home, because they were warm and called to me!! Oh my!!!! I haven't had tamales this good for at least 7 years. My honey, judge #2, loved them. These were his first tamales, ever! If you like tamales, you must, must try these!!!
Now proudly ! , Featuring our new PASTA DEL-MAR . Fresh scallops, shrimp, crabmeat mix with our homemade ALFREDO SAUCE & FARFALLE PASTA . Enjoy with a garlic bread, soup or salad !
Today's special at Riverside looks so good !!!!
I've never had a bad meal at Riverside and the staff is always friendly, but I have been blindsided with extra charges on a couple visits now. On one visit within the last couple weeks, I was charged for a second basket of chips, which would have been offered freely in the past (and still is in a lot of Mexican restaurants). No one informed me of this change before I ordered and ate from that second basket, however. Tonight I was hit with two surprise charges. I knew about the charge for a second basket of chips by that point, but I was unaware I would be charged for a second cup of salsa for my meal and a Pepsi to go (both were offered freely in the past and still are in a lot of restaurants). I sat my Pepsi down on the counter and told the ladies they could keep it, though I did pay for the salsa. I understand Riverside is a small business and probably needs to cut costs wherever possible, but it would have been nice to have been informed of such changes before I asked for the aforementioned items.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Best chips & salsa & Riverside tacos I have ever had authentic Mexican beans, seasoned steak, peppers, onions, & queso cheese. Lettuce tomato & sour cream on the side! Thx Marie I will be back soon
Thank you so much for an awesome brunch! We had so much fun hanging out, eating excellent food and sharing so many laughs ☺️
I love Riverside Cafe, eat there at least once a week, and recommend it to other people all the time. We are so lucky to have delicious and authentic Mexican food available to us here in South Whitley. However, I did have a somewhat negative experience there last Friday night. The place was PACKED, which is good, because I want to see the restaurant thrive. Being a regular, I knew the staff always instructed customers to seat themselves, so I found a booth and had a seat. I knew I might be waiting a while before I saw a waitress because they were so busy, and I was absolutely fine with that. There came a point, however, when I saw two members of the staff standing behind the counter having a conversation. That irked me after I had been patiently waiting, but one of the two ladies eventually saw me and they both walked over. I said I had wondered if they would ever notice me. To her credit, the young lady who ended up waiting on me was apologetic and the service was exemplary afterwards (as it usually is). I suppose I'm sharing this for two purposes. I wanted to explain that I wasn't upset that I had to wait. If everyone was busy performing aspects of their jobs, I would have happily waited. I was upset that, at that moment, I felt that I wasn't as important as having a chat. I realize in that mob of people I was probably easy to miss, so I quickly got over it. My second reason for posting this is to share a suggestion. I think it would be a GREAT idea for the restaurant to get a "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign for busy periods. If the staff has to seat every customer or group of customers, it won't be so easy to overlook anyone. I took the time to post this because I care and want to see the restaurant continue to succeed. See you for lunch.😺
Thank you for dinner tonight! Food and service was great as always, our favorite place to eat. :)
