Thank you to Jeff Francisco for help coordinating and setting this event up for us. And Hitachi for allowing us to be a part of that special event.
It was an honor to be selected to spearhead this catering event. This was a big collaboration between 6 small local businesses. TC'S Bar-B-Que
Chucky's Bar-B-Que, D&D Skins, Ada & Kats Catering, Season With Grace, and Packhouse. It was a pleasure to work with all of these teams to get the job done. We had combined over 20 staff on site to help. Mostly teenagers- talk about inspiring the next.
We worked in conjunction for weeks organizing this event. Together, I believe over 400 man hours invested to make that event happen. People see the buffet table with the food ready to eat, the beautiful arrangements, and the cute finger sandwiches. What they don't see is the 2am fire stoking. The 5am prep start up, the 20 phone calls to food suppliers. The last minute cancelations. The missed deliveries. The hundreds of miles back and forth. The 3am wake up the day of wondering about the number of tents needed.
With all that said, with all 6 of us having different business, different specialties, different flavors; when the call was made stating a job needed to be done, without hesitation they were all on board and said what do you need and how can we help. That is what community support looks like and should be. Because even though we are different we are still neighbors, we are still family, and we need to support one another.
So thank you to Hitachi for supporting local business and thank you to all involved in the collaboration. Until next time. Keep Grinding.
