Charles Angelo Pozzi, Sr.
Born and raised in Occidental
Charles Angelo Pozzi, Sr., born Nov. 10, 1922, died in his sleep July 13, 2014 at the age of 91. Pozzi was born and raised in Occidental. He married in 1949 and raised his family in Sebastopol. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a man of many trades. He retired after 30 years from the Bohemian Grove in Monte Rio. Pozzi was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed bingo and being an amateur ham radio operator (WD6DTK). Pozzi is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marybell; four sons, Charles, Jr. (Lori), David, Michael (Inna), Daniel (Gemma), and his daughter Mary (Mikey); 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A rosary will be held Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m. A memorial mass will be Saturday, July 26 at 1 p.m. Both will be held at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church, 7983 Covert Ln., Sebastopol. A reception will follow at the church hall.
