Is it true? Can it really be possible?!!
Faith’s food trucking life started 5 years ago today. 🙌🏼 Our launch party was July 17, 2021. Happy birthday my big beautiful baby girl! Mommy loves you so much!
I’m sure it would really make her day to be booked today, to serve her people; what a great birthday present that would be!

I put everything I had into her. Every single penny to my name, including selling my car, my dream car keep in mind that it took me 41 years to acquire. That was a hard one. But I had faith, in God and in Faith. I “knew” that Faith was going to be a big part of my journey. When I work 15, 17, 21 hours sometimes, a day, and then we get to an event and I get to see the pure joy in peoples faces, it’s all worth it. Kids (and often adults) asking for us to turn the lights on or doing the honking thing as we travel to and from events, I love it! ”Spreading LOVE & Joy through Food” that’s the goal! Thank you Faith, for your part in achieving that goal by “Bringing Comfort Food to the Rescue!” 😉 And THANK YOU ALL for YOUR part in BytheGrace’s mission!  Without you, she’s just a big beautiful ambulance. 🩵

At camp, in Alaska, most adults favorite dish of mine, were my grits (I do make some dang good grits). The kids though, not so much; most of them were scared to try them.
But, being in the true, super remote wilderness, you’ve got what you’ve got; and what we had, in excess, was grits. And, praise the Lord, we also had loads of butter.
Well, Mrs. Lilly’s husband, Mr. Bruce, was always ready to serve! But, being the grits server can get tiring, nearly every kid saying “no” to you.
So, after a couple mornings of rejection, Mr. Bruce said “Is there anything else we could call them?”😂 I thought for a minute and said “Well, at their essence they are ground corn, chocked full of butter.”
So that morning “Buttered Corn” was born. And boy did it give us some much needed laughter and joy. All morning…”Buttered Corn? Buttered Corn?” It actually worked to some degree too! I’ll never forget Mr. Bruce & his Buttered Corn. 😂🩵

While at camp in the Alaskan wilderness, for 24 Days, my real life engineer friend/Alaska sous chef (Daniel), and I prepared a total of:

3,939 Meals
1,366 Desserts
1,050 Snacks

All with 3 HOUSE stoves/ovens the first 2 weeks, and after the camps main generator went down, then 2 stoves for the remaining 12 days.

And we worked a total of: 336 hours
That’s an average of: 96 hours per week
With NO DAY OFF.

SO, next time you need a caterer, WE’VE GOT YOU!! God is doing some pretty miraculous things here at BytheGrace.

Good morning BytheGracians!!
Look who was able to get a post out via Starlink satellite!
Well, western Alaska has been quite the experience so far! It is TRUELY the wilderness. No roads, cars, homes, phone or internet service, NOTHING but Camp AN and 2 camp owned jon boats to get in or out. The Bering Sea is 9 miles from us and our camp is located directly on the mouth of the Yukon river. In the past 17 days, my assistant Daniel and I have prepared 2,342 meals (1,485 took place in the past 5 days)! Plus desserts for every lunch and dinner, and nightly snacks. Traveling here took 2 days. And yes, I was obviously able to get on the little plane; the first miracle of our trip.
Among so much more, I’ve seen a homemade water filtration system that supplies us all with all the water the 100 of us need, I’ve seen 10 people turn a pile of wood into a new cabin for the boys IN 8 DAYS, I’ve cooked and ate moose, tried a fresh king salmon 2 hours after being caught, right out of the Yukon, found Moose 🫎 skeletons, felt and seen God perform several miracles (even 2 for me), and met people from all over the US. And we still have 2 weeks left! Here are just a few of many photos taken in the last 19 days….

This sweet, selfless friend of ours NEEDS your help! PayPal is ripping her NONprofit off; keeping donations made to her farm for themselves. Anyone with advice (legal or otherwise) PLEASE comment or reach out to her directly. She selflessly gives her EVERYTHING to giving needy animals the second chance that many never would’ve received without her nonprofit. She’s a wonderful woman who loves the Lord and PayPal is taking full advantage of her, holding funds that were donated by many of you. She helps the needy and now SHE AND MANY HORSES NEED YOU!!

Y’all please pray for me today about this teeny tiny plane that we will be boarding this afternoon. I will have no service once we board that plane, until July 3rd! See y’all on the other side!

🚨 ATTENTION!! 🚨
BytheGrace will be closed starting TODAY and will remain closed until July 17th.
WE ARE STILL TAKING BOOKINGS for the rest of the year. Justine will be handling all of that, as I will have no phone or internet access starting tomorrow.
I will be on a month+ long mission trip, feeding the Yupik Alaskan Indian Children in Emmonak, Alaska (800 miles to the nearest city!)
Please pray for us! We are about to take off out of RDU to Seattle, then Anchorage, then to Bethel. Where we will board a bush flight that only holds 8 people (please pray for me tomorrow about that). Then we will be picked up via four wheelers, and then we take a Jon boat (small fishing boat) 17 miles up the Yukon river to our final destination, Emmonak. There, we will be at the mouth of the Yukon, 10 miles to the Bering Sea and 100 miles from Russia. I will be returning on July 4th. We look forward to serving you in July!
