After reading great books by Alafair Burke, I decided to check out her famous Dad's book series featuring detective Dave Robicheaux. "The Tin Roof Blowdown" takes place in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.... and I'm hooked.

It's Superbowl Sunday, and I'm too nervous to read!!!! But if I was reading... I would be reading The Chicago Way, by Michael Harvey! He's one of my new favorite authors. Has anyone read Where The Crawdads Sing? It is fantastic.

Just finished a wonderful book... Soul Catcher, by Michael C. White. A "soul catcher" is another name for a slave catcher. This book follows a soul catcher who is tracking two escaped slaves, and how he changes during the process. Fascinating and rewarding read! ?

If you are like me and can't get enough of true crime stories, run out and get the new book by Michelle McNamara called I'll Be Gone in the Dark. It's a fascinating look at the Golden State Killer who terrorized California for years. Strangely, the day I started reading this is the same day the killer was actually arrested. What are the odds of that?

McNamara rebranded the serial murderer and ra**st as the Golden State Killer — previously he’d been known as the EAR/ONS killer.
