It’s easy to come up with fun designs when this is your backyard. We’re based in the Sonoran desert. (Just outside of Scottsdale, AZ.) We pull inspiration from the wildlife we see on the golf course. Bobcats, coyotes, javelinas, and roadrunners. To name a few. If you want to see some Arizona wildlife while you’re golfing here are some tips.

- Play courses on the outskirts of the city. Like The Boulders, Rancho Mañana, Gold Canyon, or Verrado. We have the best luck with courses north of Scottsdale.

- Play an early morning or twilight round. That’s when the wildlife is the most active.

- Don’t play music, this will make it easier to notice wildlife. And it won’t scare them away.

- If you see wildlife, admire from a distance. They won’t bug you if you don’t bug them.

Does Camelback Golf Club have the best course logo in Scottsdale? It’s up there for us. We love the orange camel.

If you’re playing Camelback we recommend Padre. A fun parkland course. It has great views of Camelback Mountain and Mummy Mountain. And while you’re in the pro shop you’ll see some custom Daphne’s camel headcovers.

Here’s how our Lion driver headcover has changed over the past 31 years.

Let’s start with the mane. Back in 1995 our faux-fur choices were limited. So our lion came with a shorter mane. Today we source any fur/fabric we want, so our current lion has a more realistic mane.

Next is the nose. Our first lion had a rubber nose. Our current Lion’s nose is embroidered onto the headcover. Which helps it last longer!

Finally, the tag. You’ll notice the first lion doesn’t have our signature Daphne’s tag. We made this tag in 1996 when Daphne, our cofounder, passed away. Our Daphne’s tag has been on every headcover we’ve made since 1996.

How our giraffe headcover has changed over the last 28 years.

In 1998 we started making custom furs. But they were rough. You can see how the spots on the 98’ giraffe are more geometric than lifelike. But over time our skills improved.

Now our fur better resembles a giraffe. And we’ve been able to add a ton of details to the new one. Including eyelashes, two horns, and a nice brown mane. The giraffe has come a long way since 98 and we’re excited to see where it evolves to next.
