Getting ready for an upcoming event and looking to bring some greenery into the space. Finally got a chance to check out in Oakland and it did not disappoint. Dope vibe, great variety of plants everywhere, and a host of products from other black businesses.

They’ve also got a little coffee stand inside called The Black Bean and a back patio that’s perfect for slowing down for a minute. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area.

A little more about this pasta! So I was watching someone's Italy travel stories a little while back and they shared a similar dish where tortellini was slow cooked in milk and I've been wanting to try it out since... so here's my take! Fresh Whipped feta & goat cheese tortellini slowed cooked for 2 1/2 hours in milk and sage. Finished with some Parmesan cheese and topped with crumbled feta, basil, and lemon zest.

This appetizer has cod as the star poached in duck fat & lobster butter, brown butter hollandaise underneath, summer squash, zucchini, English peas, fennel, and black cherries.

On the menu tonight:

Pistachio, black truffle salt and herb crusted striped bass, sautéed spinach, and sumiso ginger broth with mirin, rice vinegar and shallots. I also added a little chili oil that I received from for the magic finish 🤤
