I loooovvve when a cake can tell a story, and this one yall? 😭😭 It was such an honor to create. This cake didn’t just tell a story, it told her beautiful life. 📚🌻
When Sydnee’s mom asked for another version of my book cake, she didn’t just want books, she wanted each book to represent a chapter of her daughter’s life. 🥹 Uggghhh I was instantly on board!
Each book represented a special part of Sydnee’s story:
📖 Her maroon Jeep and “Little Miss Sunshine” and sunflowers
📖 Michelangelo to represent and honor her soon-to-be adoptive father, Lance Michael 💙
📖 Years of cheerleading and becoming a 3-time All American 🎉
📖 Beginning a new chapter cheering at Lubbock Christian University
📖 Varsity Volleyball
📖 High Jump
📖 And her beautiful senior prom.
And of course we HAD to top it with a billion fresh florals bc I am who I am! 🤣😍😍. But really… I love that I got to turn this cake into more than just dessert. It became a celebration of the memories, milestones, and people who helped write her story so far.
Creating cakes like this is why I love doing what I do. 🥹😭 There’s something truly SO special about someone giving me their vision and then handing over the reins and giving me creative control to bring that vision to life. Don’t get me wrong… I genuinely love making all kinds of cakes, but to tell a story through my cakes?🥹 There is just something about it that brings my heart so much joy!! It may sound corny 🤣 but I want my cakes to be about more than just cake, buttercream or fondant. I want them to be about creating something meaningful that families can gather around and remember for a long time! My Tia Gina was amazing at creating memories through her cakes. And my hope is to bring that to other families like she did ours and so many others! 😭😭💕.
So thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me and my little home bakery, to be even a small part of such a special milestone. 💕
Happy 18th Birthday, Sydnee! Praying for aaall of the beautiful chapters still to come for you 💕🌻
