First off, thank you.

We just got voted the highest rated pizza in St. Pete by I Love The Burg and that’s honestly pretty wild. We don’t take stuff like that for granted. Every person that’s ever grabbed a slice, left a review, told a friend or shared one of our videos, this belongs to you just as much as it does to us. Thank you for believing in this little pizza shop.

Now for the bad news.

Our parking lot is getting resealed and repaved over the next few days. That’s awesome for the long run, but it’s gonna make parking… rough. Really rough. Today we’re staying open and business is running as normal, but we’re trying to figure out if it makes sense to stay open while customers and delivery drivers have to park a pretty good distance away and walk over.

So I need your opinion.

If Killer Pizza had almost no parking for 3 or 4 days, would you still make the walk for a pizza, or would you wait until the lot is finished?

Be brutally honest. Your answers are going to help us decide what to do over the next few days.

One of my favorite leaders of all time!

Killer Pizza brought in a few new faces recently and this crew is absolutely crushing it right now.

Not because everyone walks in knowing everything.

Not because mistakes never happen.

It’s because people are communicating, taking feedback, helping each other and staying open to getting better.

That reminded me of an old friend and coach of mine named Cisco.

Years ago I had a sales job and Cisco would pull me into his office to coach me. Somehow he could tell me everything I was doing wrong without ever making me feel small. I actually looked forward to those conversations because I always left feeling heard, understood and ready to get better.

That changed the way I lead people forever.

Good leadership isn’t screaming louder than everyone else. It’s being honest with people in a way they can actually hear.

So thank you Cisco. You probably had no idea how much those conversations stuck with me.

And thank you to the Killer Pizza crew for trusting me, following my leadership, speaking up, listening and always being willing to grow.

We’re building something special in that little kitchen.

One conversation, one mistake and one badass pizza at a time.

A few years ago, this was the dream.

Owning my own pizzeria. Walking through it on a Monday while the ovens are off. Eating lunch with my daughter while she’s still dressed for dance.

Then you finally get the life you busted your ass for—and somehow you start letting food costs, employee turnover, customer complaints and a hundred other little piles of bu****it convince you that everything is falling apart.

The problems are real. Some days they’re brutal.

But so is this.

An empty restaurant on my day off. My daughter eating a salad in the lobby. No tickets printing. No phones ringing. Just a quiet reminder that I’m standing inside something I used to pray for.

Don’t let the daily bu****it make you forget you’re living in an answered prayer.

Slow the f**k down.

Look around.

Smell the roses.

Most people think a Stromboli is just pizza dough rolled up with some meat and cheese.

It’s not.

First the dough gets stretched and stuck to the granite. Then comes the deli ham, Genoa salami, Grande mozzarella, cup & char pepperoni, crumbled Italian sausage, and one more layer of mozzarella.

The trick most people miss? I tear off the thick front edge of the dough before rolling. That way every bite is loaded with meat and cheese instead of a giant wad of bread in the center.

Then it’s rolled tight by pulling it back toward you with every turn, stretching the dough thinner as it wraps around the filling. A quick crimp, a little karate chop to clean up the ends, and into the oven for 10–12 minutes.

Simple ingredients. Old-school technique. No shortcuts.

Most bosses would’ve kept him hourly…

That’s the part that bothered me the most.

🧠 Young kid

And then he said something I’ll never forget:

👉 “I’m just a dumbass.”

That’s when I realized something…

Some people don’t need a handout

They need somebody to believe in them
before they believe in themselves

So instead of giving him a safer position…

I gave him MORE responsibility

And what happened after that honestly shocked me…

His confidence exploded
His leadership exploded
His future exploded

Then the internet did something even crazier…

Complete strangers started sending gifts for his baby

Diapers
Wipes
Formula
Support

Because value spreads
