Sometimes, cows are jerks. Their naughty butts got into my orchard while we weren't home, and because they can never JUST eat grass, they have to scratch their stupid heads on small trees. This *was* my pet apple tree. My favorite kind of apple, still small, but blooming for the first time this year. Now it's kindling.

Our first taste of honey this year! It's light and lovely, and I don't know how, but it tastes like apricot jam. We're still a way off from harvesting, but I'm excited to see what this year's crop will be like!

I got up early (so you KNOW it was important!) to apply a dose of beneficial nematodes to every vulnerable fruit tree on this property. By hand. Wowee, have we planted a plethora of trees! But, hopefully this will help protect them from the peach borers that have been so devastating. We will reapply in spring in hopes of completely eliminating the larvae that overwinter in the soil.
