🌱 Happy International Compost Awareness Week! 🌱

This week, we're giving a big shoutout to our amazing community partners β€” local restaurants, gardens, and farms helping us grow a regenerative food community right here in the Farm-to-Fork Capital. πŸ’š Together, we're turning waste into nourishment through education and action!

Happy International Compost Awareness Week! 🌱 There are so many reasons to compost, but these are some of our favorites:

1. Composting is one of the simplest ways to cut down on waste and pollution! By diverting food scraps and yard waste from landfills, composting reduces methane emissions and helps keep our air and water cleaner.

2. Compost transforms dry, lifeless dirt into rich, fertile soil that supports healthier crops, reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, and conserves water. Healthy soil leads to stronger local food systems and more resilient communities.

3. Composting brings communities closer by creating green spaces, supporting urban gardens, and providing local composting solutions. By composting, we're not only reducing waste but also supporting local businesses and sustainable careers.

4. Compost naturally feeds the soil, reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers while improving water retention and crop yields. It’s an eco-friendly solution that protects soil health and supports sustainable agriculture.

Did you know that it's International Compost Awareness Week? This year's theme, "Sustainable Communities Begin with Compost," reminds us that composting is an essential tool for building healthier communities and fighting climate change. Give this a share and help us spread the word about how composting our food scraps and yard waste can create greener, more resilient communities!

At CREF, we believe composting is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to tackle some of our planet’s biggest sustainability challenges. From supporting zero hunger to promoting responsible consumption and protecting our air and waterways, composting is at the heart of regenerative practices that heal both our communities and the Earth.
