Preorders for Thanksgiving 2026.

I know it’s far in advance, but because we are closing the shop, we want to plan ahead.

WE WILL BE TAKING PREORDERS FOR THE PECAN PRALINE CARROT CAKE for Thanksgiving this year. We can only accept a limited number of orders, so if you know you’ll want one, put your order in EARLY.

We are only selling whole cake, which is extremely rich and is about 14 to 20 servings (depending on how big your slices are).

This is an amazing carrot cake, with over a pound of fresh shredded carrots, coconut, crushed pineapple, toasted pecans, and all the amazing fall spices, pecan pralines, luscious butterscotch sauce and creamy cream cheese buttercream. If you know you know.

We have some sad news, and it’s been one of the toughest decisions we’ve had to make as a family. The Sugar Chalet is closing its storefront.

We tried our best, but the economy just isn’t what it was when we first opened. And while our mountain community is the absolute best (we love and appreciate you all so much!!!), we just can’t afford to continue. The fact is, we haven’t made enough sales to match the monthly expenses since before the Line Fire. So, it’s time for us to accept that the situation isn’t what it needs to be for us to continue.

We love you all so much, and it’s been the biggest blessing baking for you and getting to know you all better. We will miss seeing you all every weekend in the shop.

That being said, we will be open for the next three Saturdays, and will be trying to bake some of your favorites. Please do come by and say hello, goodbye, or grab your favorite treat.

We will also be selling off the furniture and equipment if you see something you like or need.

And lastly, we live here and we aren’t going anywhere, so we will still be around town and at events.

We are considering still baking for some special orders and for the holidays by preorder. So don’t worry, there will still be carrot cake from time to time 😆😆😆

Henry made the most amazing hobbit themed cake for a client this weekend. It’s so gorgeous! And the best part it tastes amazing ( we tried the extra leftover cake.)

A couple of years ago, Anastasia and Aaron were lucky enough to visit Hobbiton in New Zealand, so Henry used those photos for reference 🙂

We made more puppy chow since it was such a big hit!
And more cookie pudding parfaits with Oreo and Biscoff cookie crumbles!

We also have just a couple loaves of sourdough left and some sourdough chocolate chip cookies, plus other cookies too including red velvet and white chocolate chip 🙂, and others

It’s month long celebration all month so we baked up the last of our sugar cookie photocards, binnie shortbread, and red “lights” velvet cupcakes. Only this month and then no more 🙂 (until they announce a tour or another comeback, personally I’m hoping for a Christmas album 😃)
