Welcome to our newest chapter!
We do not yet have a set opening date, as we still have some hoops to jump through.
BUT, I just couldn’t take it anymore!
I have wanted to tell you since December 28th, 2019…
That is the day that I first walked in to a POKE RESTAURANT.
I had eaten poke previously. Usually as the special somewhere, but I had never experienced it that way, choosing everything going in and on, until that day.
I was taking our middle son to the airport after his Christmas visit, and like I always do when the kids leave, I found someplace to eat my feelings, before hardcore retail therapy.
When I got back home I went on and on about how well it would do here. How wonderful it was. How I wanted to open one.
Knowing that the unit next to the coffee shop would be available at some point in the near future, as the Austin’s had expressed their desire to sell (at one point asking us if we would like to purchase it), I spoke to the property owner. Letting her know that I very much wanted the space when it became available…. And while I had no desire to own a seafood market, there would still be fish!
I believe before a market, it was a bait shop? So we are keeping the fish theme going! 🐠 😉
I was both stoked and terrified when the Poke Box opened in Nags Head.
Happy that I could drive up the beach for a quick lunch, terrified someone else would get the notion to open one on Hatteras!
We took possession of the northern unit spring of 24…it’s been a hot minute and a WHOLE LOT OF WORK….but, we are nearly there!
And I am SOOOOO EXCITED.
As soon as the menu is completed, I will post.
It is going to be amazing!
I know, because we have spent the last several years perfecting our bowl skills!
So, tell me…how excited are you for POKE in Rodanthe!?!?!
