Today was a big day. We hatched a beautiful new trio of Silkie chicks into the world, and we officially finished the roof on our chicken coop! It’s so rewarding to see it all come together.

A huge thank you to my son, Matthew Lockhart, with Lockhart Plumbing, for all of his hard work helping complete this coop today. If you’re in the Outer Banks, Elizabeth City, or the surrounding areas of North Carolina and need a plumber, I highly recommend giving him a call. And no, that’s not just my “proud mom” talking—it’s because he’s honest, dependable, takes pride in his work, and stands behind what he does. Quality work is hard to find, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Life gets busy, so I never take nights like this for granted. Good food, a great drink, and catching up with a good friend.
