A new chapter has been added to a piece of Milam County history.
The new Worley Bridge historical sign is now proudly standing at the Historic Worley Bridge at Apache Pass.
This sign honors the legacy of F.W. Worley and his family, who donated the land for the bridge to Milam County in 1911, making possible the bridge that was built in 1912 and has served generations ever since.
More than just a marker, the sign tells the story of the San Gabriel River, the surrounding landmarks, and the rich history connected to this special place. It also serves as a reminder that preserving our history ensures future generations can appreciate where we’ve come from.
If you’re traveling through Milam County, take a few minutes to stop by, read the sign, and enjoy one of our county’s historic landmarks.
