✨ Help us Restore Monarch ✨

If you dont know me, I’m Trevor Ray, Owner of Monarch Coffee Bar. A small espresso cart with big dreams, community, and specially curated coffee.

As many of you know, our espresso machine has been out of commission for a few months now. The time is quickly approaching for cooler weather and hot lattes… so we need your help.

We have started a go fund me for new equipment. We have a few hundred saved, but it’s not enough to cover the cost of the new machine we need.

In May, our espresso machine broke due to an unreliable power source provided by a building that one of our markets was hosted at. Unfortunately, the property owners and managers have refused to take responsibility for the damage or offer any assistance in replacing the machine, even though it was caused by their mistake.

This setback has cost me and my business thousands of dollars. Without this machine, we are unable to serve our community in the way we want to. No full menu, no full bar, no hot drinks until further notice. (And fall is quickly approaching.)

I am reaching out to you, my extended monarch family and community, for help. Your support (no matter how big or small) will directly go toward a new commercial-grade espresso machine. Allowing us to create our signature lattes once again in their full form.

Running a small business comes with many, many challenges, and this one has been especially hard. We believe in what we’re doing and in the power of our community here in Richmond, Va.

Dear friends,

We’ve hit a bit of a roadblock.

At our last market, our espresso machine was unfortunately damaged due to an unreliable power source we were provided. Despite numerous attempts to repair it, the machine is no longer salvageable. I’ll admit—it’s been tough, and I’ve shed more than a few tears over it. But we’re staying positive and moving forward.

Replacing the machine comes with an unexpected cost of over $2,500—a significant expense for us at the moment.

In the meantime, Monarch will continue to operate as a cold brew and matcha bar. Don’t worry—we’ll still be serving up the same great flavors you love.

If you’d like to support us, please consider purchasing one of our hand-poured candles on our website. All profits will go directly toward funding a new espresso machine. For those who feel especially generous, we’ve also linked our Venmo.
