Y’all were right on time yesterday! What a time to show up, and show out! The day began with Gusti Restaurant Equipment placing a HUGE order, then from there you all kept pouring in with Love. Yesterday was different on Hull st- outside there was so many people walking around, laughing, smiling, having such a great time. The air was filled with positivity and gratitude. It was magical 💫 No matter what challenges we face we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that the Community that we support will always be here to support us- THIS IS MORE THAN COOPERATIVE ECONOMICS- THIS IS L O V E 💚💚

We’ve waited an entire year for today! Theres nothing like the Juneteenth Celebration at Dorey Park organized by Henrico Recreation & Parks !!! The PV Mobile Vibe 🚛💚💫 will be at Dorey Park from 4pm-10pm, AND the restaurant will still be open from 12pm-9pm today.

WE HAVE BEEN BUILDING FOR YEARS FAMILY TO GET TO THIS POINT! Thank you for your support! Yesterday was nothing short of magical, (on the trailer and at the restaurant) and we are looking forward to celebrating with you all again today 😁💚💫

It’s about more than simply making money-it’s about making a difference 💚

MORNING STORY-TIME: A few days ago we had a guest at the market pass a fake $100. Purchased milk and received $95+ dollars back in real money. Fast forward to yesterday; I was sitting by the front of the store and the same guy walked in!

I jumped up to tell my boss and he could tell I was in a "get his butt/we ride at dawn" mood because, don't play with ussss. But he said very peacefully, calm down. Go grab the fake bill for me.

When I came back and gave him the fake bill, he pulled the guy to the side to not embarrass him and began to explain how we knew he passed a fake the other day. He asked what he planned to pay with that day and he answered another one. I saw my boss show him his bill and compare it to a real one. They held it to the light, went through all the differences. It was clear the guy had some mental challenges.

He told him, "you need to get rid of those bills. We won't call the police here, but not every store is going to be as forgiving and you can get into a lot of trouble with illegal currency."

It didn't end there, my boss said, "Well I can't let you pay for more items with a fake bill, but are you hungry? We will make sure you eat." To which the guy replied "hell yea" lol. I snapped this picture as my boss was bagging up some food for him to take with him. Per usual he didn't know.

But I learned something on Freedom Day here in Historic Jackson Ward. Even amidst taking a $95 L, we can still be graceful, we can still be kind, we can still be generous, and we can still serve our neighbors.

Disclaimer: He done used up this one-time fake bill move. We are prepared for any others so don't try it!! 🤣❤️

Peace Family,
We just finished loading up the truck in the rain at restaurant depot as we prepare for a busy Juneteenth. Last year when we took our food trailer to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for their Free Community Day event , and we were so busy that we had to call the restaurant and tell the staff to come help and close the restaurant for half the day.l 😅 THIS YEAR WE ARE READY!!!! We have taken the time to build the appropriate teams for the food 🚛 and restaurant 😁 so the restaurant will be open from 11:30-9pm today AND the PV 🚛💚💫 will be at Lewis Ginter from 10-5pm. It may be raining now, but in a couple of ours the sun will be shining bright as the Ancestors smile upon us all 🌞 HAPPY JUNETEENTH 🌞

The harsh reality is that in todays economy owning and operating a restaurant is not for the faint of heart. With the cost of goods continuing to rise, even a trip to the supply store can be daunting. Watching peers close down, knowing what the everyday battle is like can be draining for restaurant owners. So please take a moment to visit your favorite local restaurants, and let them know how much you appreciate them- not only with food/drink orders, but with a kind word. You’d be surprised how much restaurant owners, and staff appreciate words of encouragement. A genuine “thank you” and a smile can truly go a long way.

To all of the restaurants, and community members out there- let’s keep pushing together, supporting one another, and proving that when we come TOGETHER ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE 💫💚💫

We are open today from 11:30-4pm, but we will be closed the following 2 Sundays (6/21 &6/28) for some well deserved family time. We’ve been going extra hard, and are going to take those two Sundays to celebrate Father’s Day and our daughter turning 5 the week after. Sometimes a little rest is best to help past the test - “bars.” 😂 If you love seeing us on Sundays, then come on through today and we got you 😉💚

We’ve been consistently working our plan, building our brand, positioning ourselves for the moment when God/The Universe said “it’s your turn.” THE FIRST FULLY VEGAN VENDOR AT THE CHESTERFIELD FAIR. This isn’t a simple win for us, this is a win for every vegan/vegetarian restaurant, vegan/vegetarian person, people with gluten allergies, people that are looking for something different, and people that are following their dreams. It’s about more than serving food- we are shifting the standards. It has to start with someone, somewhere, and we are honored that we get to be those people. We don’t take these opportunities for granted either. We will continue to pour love into everything we do, so that you all can receive this L O V E 💚

People say “make it make sense” because it doesn’t, but at the same time it does. It doesn’t make sense to people who care about children. It doesn’t make sense that a person that walks around the NICU breaking premature, defenseless, little babies bones gets less prison time than someone illegally towing cars. It’s obvious that the system doesn’t care about the children. Yea, yea, yea we make cheesesteaks, and yea yea yea we make burgers, but come the f on man. Both people were doing wrong, but WHEN WILL WE START PROTECTING THE CHILDREN?! WHEN WILL THE CHILDREN BEGIN GETTING EQUAL JUSTICE?!

This is so disgusting! It’s all upside down. Got us so upset that we are going to give away free food to all of the children today, because if we don’t transmute the way that we at PV are feeling about this, then it’s going to eat us up. Any child that walks into Philly Vegan today can choose any kids meal item for free. You got 3 children that are hungry, 6 children that are hungry, 9 children that are hungry? Then bring them by, because someone has to care in some way. We may not always know what to do, but we know what we can do, and that’s feed them.
