GypsyStageCompany

GypsyStageCompany Gypsy Stage Company, performs live plays, musicals, variety shows, magical events, music and more on

Taking their name from the theatrical term meaning dancers who learn new routines with every show, Gypsy Stage Company (GSC) is a newly established network of experienced on- and off-stage people working toward the introduction of the theatre arts to all aspects of a community. The GSC goal is to expand the work of theatre to venues outside of formal theatrical spaces. Many communities and busines

ses have "spaces" where their populations gather for various reasons. GSC will bring theatrical projects to those venues so that the community can add the wonders of theatre to the list of reasons why they meet. Bringing experienced personnel and working with group volunteers, as available, GSC can create exciting and entertaining projects. Because of the nature of repertoire, these projects can be varied in type, size and theme. The myriad opportunities of GSC would include but not be limited to staged readings, themed performances for business and leisure groups and theatrical productions.

Hello friends. Many of you already know, but for those who don't, we had to cancel this weekend's performances of Friends in High Places as one of our actors had a serious health issue last weekend, preventing her from performing this weekend. We will still be doing the shows on the 22, 23, 29 and 30th and we hope you'll be able to join us.

Friends in High Places has turned into an amazing multi-media/live theater comedy experience and we cannot wait to share our hard work with you!

STARRING: Kyle Jenks, Joshua Huyssen, Michael Rizzo, Krysta Leigh, Becky Morris, Kris Gale, Amy Peart, John Rayno and Betsy Chapman, Thomas Wick and Hannah Byrne.

OK so you're not going to believe this but when we were planning this years season, Tracy Renee Byrne told Judith Sapperstein that she wanted to do Friends in High Places because of the Aliens. (Judie's always looking for them in the sky when we drive lol) ... anyway, Tracy thought Aliens would be highly relevant right now and besides, it's a funny darn play.

ANYWAY, we go to rehearsals and Judie felt the need to tell everyone, "We wrote this play in 2009 so any resemblances to current events is totally coincidental!" Funny how life is huh? lol.

Want to know what she meant? you'll have to come to the show! :P

HOW THE HECK DID THIS HAPPEN? ;)

Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the theater ...

One day, a dear friend of playwrights Judith Sapperstein and Gary Murway contacted them and said something to the tune of ... "I'd love to take your work, 'Women are from Venus, Men are from Uranus' to the Liverpool International Theatre Festival in 2016, but it's too long and I'd need to get a theatre group who is able to travel to perform it."

Well, for anyone who knows Judith at all, they would know that those 'little things' wouldn't hold her back and so she made a version of "Venus" that was 60 minutes long and funded the creation of a group that they named, "Gypsy Stage Company" as it was traveling to Liverpool.
