Emma’s story is legendary among those who lived near and or frequented the bordellos in Portland’s “Court of Death” during the late 1800’s. Portland’s Wild West style law enforcement definitely didn’t solve her murder but she sure was mourned by the police chief himself amongst other night profile well to do Portlander’s during that era. This is part 1, and introduction if you will, to the story of Emma Merlotin.
