What’s better than flowers for your wedding centerpiece? 👀 CAKE!! 🍰
I had the honor of creating delicious centerpiece cakes for a beautiful wedding this weekend at TheDistrictVenueAnkeny

1- 3 tiered Semi-naked wedding cut cake
25- 6” Round Semi-naked centerpiece cakes (also used as table number).

Cake Flavors;
•Vanilla Vanilla
•S’mores
•Banana Cream
•Almond Almond
•Lemon Raspberry
•Chocolate Peanut Butter

I don’t make cakes in advance to refrigerate or freeze, So everything is made fresh even for weddings.😅 It was a super busy 48 hours, but totally worth it. I mean look how beautiful these look. 😍

“Your demonstration is the one people have been most excited for.” No pressure, right? 😅

Hearing that before I even began was equal parts incredibly flattering and absolutely nerve-racking. Before this weekend, I had never baked in front of anyone other than my husband, my mom and my sisters. So standing in the Maytag Demonstration Kitchen at the Iowa State Fair and baking in front of a room full of complete strangers? Terrifying.
But I’ve always believed in doing the things that scare me.
One of my mottos in life and especially in baking is “Follow your fears.” Some of the best opportunities in my life have come from taking chances, stepping outside of my comfort zone and betting on myself. This weekend was definitely one of those moments.🥰

I want to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to the Iowa State Fair for inviting me to bake in the Maytag Demonstration Kitchen. It was such a wonderful experience and I had an amazing time sharing my Original Dutch Letter Cheesecake with everyone.

To every person who took time out of their Iowa State Fair day to come watch my demonstrations, ask questions, chat with me and try my creation THANK YOU. With so many things to see and do at the Fair, the fact that you chose to spend part of your day with me truly means more than you know.☺️❤️

I walked into that kitchen nervous.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the New Roots Small Business Pop-Up at yesterday. An even bigger thank you to those who stopped by our booth and supported our small business. Your incredible support completely sold us out, and I couldn’t be more grateful. 🧁🍰

I’d also like to extend my sincere thanks to the local news stations that helped shine a spotlight on this wonderful event, as well as the IPR journalist who took the time to interview me and share my story. Your support and coverage help small businesses like mine reach new audiences and continue to grow.

I will have a variety of my delicious baked goods for sale, plus there will be other amazing businesses and it would mean so much to us if you came to support.

FREE Parking! All event guests may park in the Orange and/or Green parking lots located on the North side of the Convention Center with an entrance off 5th St. (833 5th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309). Mention you are attending the New Roots event in order to park for FREE.
