While we won’t be operating in Savannah anymore, we’re so thankful for every customer, business, and friend who supported our mobile coffee dream. You’ve made this journey so special. 💫

Latte vs. Macchiato — What's the Difference?

Let’s break it down:

Latte:
Creamy, smooth, and all about the milk. A latte is mostly steamed milk with a shot of espresso — about 1/3 espresso, 2/3 steamed milk, topped with a light layer of foam (and whip cream with us 😉)

Macchiato (Traditional):
Bold and espresso-forward. A traditional macchiato is a shot of espresso “stained” with just a dollop of milk foam. ("Macchiato" means "stained" or "spotted" in Italian!) It’s much stronger and more intense than a latte.

BUT!

In American coffee shops, a "latte macchiato" became popular — basically the reverse: steamed milk “stained” with espresso poured over the top. It looks beautiful and tastes somewhere between a latte and a traditional macchiato!
