Come see us tonight as we light it up!
Tonight's the night! Join us for Ohio Township's Tree Lighting Celebration, starting at 5:30pm.
What to expect:
Areas around the park will be decked out with lights and decorations for a truly memorable night.
Scenic Horse Drawn Carriage Rides will be available from 5:30-8:30pm. The pick up and drop off line for rides will be near the pavilion.
Enjoy festive Ice Carving Shows by Master Ice Carver Richard Bubin of Ice Creations (first show starting at 6pm). Shows will take place near the pavilion.
Brisketburgh will be selling delicious food, and Urban Trail Coffee Co. will be selling warm drinks!
NEW! Avonworth's Class of 2025 will be selling hot cocoa and cookies on the front patio of the Nature Center, so don't forget to bring cash to purchase treats and support their fundraising efforts!
Tree Lighting: This year's tree lighting will take place under the park's pavilion between 7:00 and 7:15pm. One lucky child will be selected to light up the night!
Santa Claus: Our special guest of the night will arrive by police es**rt when the lights are lit!
Tree Lit Nature Trail: Local boy scout and girl scout groups have transformed our Nature Trail into a festive display by decorating trees along the path! Trees will be lit up for the night, and decorated in different themes chosen by the scouts. The winning tree will be selected by voting, so visit our page tomorrow to cast a vote for your favorite tree!
StoryWalk: Our friends at Sewickley Public Library (SPL) will have a special Holiday StoryWalk displayed on the Nature Trail. The book, Snowflakes Fall by Patricia MacLachlan will be up through Christmas, making its debut at the Tree Lighting!
SPL staff will also be set up on the front patio of the Nature Center with free craft giveaways.
Kids visiting Santa will receive a candy cane and a custom made ornament commemorating the night, while supplies last.
All activities are free of charge except the food/drink vendors and Class of 2025 treats. We'll be helping the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Company collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, so please consider bringing a new and unwrapped toy to the event and help bring joy to others in need this Christmas.
