A portrait of Coffee Guy Eric as a 15 yr old Star Scout with Troop 173 in Etna at Philmont New Mexico. The personal development and skills learned in Scouting were instrumental in my later development as a soldier, officer, and leader. Having just turned 15, this epic experience gave me more confidence in my ability more than anything I could have imagined. We had the best Scout leaders that led by example with empathy and compassion that helped develop me into the man I've become at a time that could not have been more critical.
While times have changed, the mission and importance have never been more critical. Shout out to Neil Vidt (far left, bottom row) for continuing to carry the torch.
