My Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Crispy chicken, slaw, pickles, heat that shows up but doesn’t ruin your day… all piled onto a soft roll like it has something to prove.

It’s messy. It’s loud. It’s exactly what you want.

This one’s been holding it down on the Southern Comfort menu and for good reason.

Even when I THINK I’m happy with my final menus I still make small changes here and there.

After the proposal dinner I did this past week, Catrina and I compared the similar appetizers (Roasted Grapes crostini on the Mostly French menu) and decided the Vol-au-Vent with Roasted Grapes and Goat cheese were a much better option for that menu.

This is why I love when clients let me customize menus because what I make for that may end up on a permanent menu.

I have plenty of shiny new kitchen equipment, but these three pieces are the ones I’ll never stop using.

Two belonged to my mom’s mom and one belonged to my dad’s mom. They’re all older than I am, they still work perfectly, and every time I pull one out I think about the women who used them before me.

Both of my grandmothers still show up in the food I make, probably more than I even realize. In my recipes, my menus, and apparently in the kitchen equipment I refuse to replace.

They don’t make ’em like they used to. ❤️

Bryan reached out to me a couple months ago with a pretty special request: dinner for the night he planned to propose to his soon-to-be fiancée. 💍

I’ll keep the personal details between them, but every course was inspired by a different part of their relationship and the life they’ve built together.

Bryan gave me full creative control over the menu, which made this one especially fun for me to plan, prep and serve. And thankfully, she said yes. 🥂

Congratulations, Bryan and Hannah! I loved getting to play a small part in such a big night. 💍🍷❤️

Apparently tomorrow is already August 16, so this is your last call for pie class. 🥧

We’re getting together from 11–2 at Hilltop Shared Kitchen and you get to choose what you’re making:

Strawberry Basil Pretzel Pie
or
Roasted Hazelnut Chocolate Tart

We’ll make everything together, I’ll teach you some of the little things I’ve learned from years of baking, and you’ll leave with an entire pie. Which feels like a pretty solid way to spend a Sunday.

You can add a few extra touches to your private event if you want to dress things up a little.

Mini charcuterie boards are $15 per person, antique serviceware is $15 per person, and flower centerpieces are $30 per bouquet.

Some groups want to keep things simple. Some want the table to feel a little more special. Either way, we can build it around the kind of night you’re having.

And in case hosting at home sounds like more work than fun, the event space at Hilltop Kitchen is also available to rent for $200.
