🔥🌭 TONIGHT’S COOK IS CANCELLED 🌭🔥

Unfortunately, we just got word that tonight’s Market at Central Station Commissary has been cancelled due to the extreme heat and the high chance of rain.

We hate that we won’t get to see everyone tonight, but with the combination of the heat and unpredictable weather, we completely understand the decision.

🌭🔥 FIRE DOGS WEEKLY SCHEDULE 🔥🌭

We’ve got a little bit of everything going on this week—truck repairs, a brand-new stop, a great cause, some fellowship, and a Saturday night full of Volkswagens and hot dogs!

🔧 Monday, August 10
We’re off to work on the truck. Yes… I STILL haven’t gotten it fixed. 😂 But I think the right part finally showed up, so hopefully this is the week!

We’ll be preparing the trailer and stocking up for the week.

No cooking Thursday, but Thursday evening I’m planning to head to the Men’s Barn meeting—not to cook this time, but to enjoy a free steak dinner, a dynamic speaker, and some good Christian fellowship.

❤️ Friday, August 14 — Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon
We’ll be cooking alongside our Pensacola Eggfest, presented by PenAir Credit Union Team for the Cat Country Cares for Kids Radiothon, benefiting Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.

This is a great event supporting local children and families, and we’re proud to be a small part of it.

🌭🥵 Check on your food truck friends… it’s HOT out here! 🥵🌭

People often ask what it’s feels like inside the Fire Dogs trailer during the summer, so I decided to take a few temperature readings while we were cooking today.

🌡️ 134.4° – Up near the ceiling where my head spends a good part of the day.

🌡️ 108.3° – On the prep counter where we build your food.

🌡️ 103.6° – In the middle of the trailer, about chin level.

Now here’s the crazy part…

Fire Dogs is an open-concept trailer with excellent airflow. We run three fans and an A/C cooler to keep the air moving, and these were still the temperatures we were seeing.

So if you see someone working in a food truck, or doing any other outdoor job this time of year, take a second to check on them. A little patience, or even just a kind word can make a bigger difference than you might think.

As for me… I’ll keep grilling as long as this the Florida heat will let me. 😅🌭

I’m still recovering from my knee injury, and with a couple of doctor appointments this week, it’s going to be another light schedule. The knee is improving, just not quite as quickly as I’d like. Hopefully we’ll be back to our regular routine soon!

The good news is my knee is feeling a little better. The bad news is it’s still a long way from 100%, so I’m trying not to overdo it and end up right back where I started.

Of all weeks for me to be sidelined with a knee injury, it had to be National Hot Dog Day! 😅

🌭🔥 FIRE DOGS WEEKLY UPDATE 🔥🌭

Unfortunately, I’m going to have to take a little time away from the grill.

Last week I injured my knee. I tried to push through it, but it just didn’t work. Instead of getting better, I made it worse.

As much as I hate taking time off, I’m going to have to rest it for a few days—and it may end up being the entire week. My goal is to heal up now so I can get back to serving you as soon as possible.
