Would You Use It Wednesday

Would you use a page that helps you decide what actually matters this week?

One of the biggest mistakes I used to make after a brain dump was assuming everything on the page needed my attention immediately.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions about brain dumping. The purpose isn't to overwhelm you with a giant list of everything you haven't done. It's to clear your mind, create some mental space, and help you process what actually needs your attention so you can develop a plan to move forward.

That's where the Declutter Your Mind Insert comes in.

After I unload everything that's swirling around in my brain, there's a space to identify my Top 3 priorities.

Not the only things that matter.

Just the three things that would make the biggest difference if I focused on them first.

It helps me:
✔ Get clear on what is most important
✔ Reduce the pressure of an overwhelming list
✔ Create a more realistic plan
✔ Stop bouncing between twenty different tasks

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is decide what NOT to focus on today.

Do you work better with structure or flexibility when deciding what to focus on?

Plans are supposed to support you, not control you.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us started believing that if we make a plan, we have to follow it exactly as written. And when we don't? We assume we failed.

But what if the problem isn't that you're bad at following a plan? What if the plan never accounted for real life in the first place?

Because real life includes:
1. changing energy
2. family needs
3. unexpected interruptions
4. days when you're simply tired
5. things taking longer than you thought they would

Flexible planning doesn't mean having no plan. It means creating a plan that can bend without breaking.

For me, that looks like choosing a few priorities instead of trying to schedule every available minute of my day.

It means breaking larger projects into smaller "laundry steps" so I can make progress even if I only have 15 minutes.

It means understanding that if something doesn't get done today, I can adjust the plan instead of abandoning it completely.

The goal isn't to create a perfect week. The goal is to create a workable week.
Because a plan that works 80% of the time is far more valuable than a perfect plan that only works on perfect days (when was the last time you had a perfect day, I know I haven't had one in a very, very long time).

So here's something to think about:

What's one thing you could remove from your plate this week?

A lot of us are planning for imaginary energy.

And trust me, I get it.

Monday happens to be my favorite day of the week.

Fresh week.
Fresh energy.
Fresh planner page.

But here's what used to happen...

On Sunday, I would sit down and create a massive brain dump. I packed that week full of all the things I was going to accomplish. Looking at it on Sunday, it seemed completely reasonable.

The problem?

I was planning based on hope.

Hope that my energy would stay high.
Hope that nothing unexpected would happen.
Hope that I wouldn't get overwhelmed.
Hope that life wouldn't life.

By the end of the week, I was usually staring at a list that wasn't even half finished. Then I'd get frustrated with myself, question what I had done all week, and somehow create another giant list the next Sunday.

Sound familiar?

These days, I plan a little differently.

I know my energy is going to change throughout the week, so I plan for real life instead of best-case scenarios.

The basics go on the list.

Maybe one larger project goes on the list too, but it's broken down into what I call my "laundry steps"—small pieces I can work through one at a time.

It leaves room for living.

It leaves room for overwhelm.

It leaves room for being tired.

It leaves room for being present in the moment.

And honestly? I get more done now than I ever did when I was trying to do everything.

Do you plan based on your real energy or your ideal energy?

I absolutely LOVE this weekly insert. There are so many ways that it can be used. It also happens to be one of Tula XII's dated options, and Rachel grabbed hers for Q3 and Q4!

This insert has three sections for each day of the week (and two for each weekend day). You can use this for content planning, schedule planning, meal planning, one section per person, one section per personal growth (physical, financial, and mental).

What would you use this insert for? If you have it, how do you have the sections divided up?

Thank you so much for your order Ida!! I love that you chose a daily insert. These are great for determing where your time is going and then organizing by the times that you have available.

This is an insert I have used many times, although it doesn't fit my current season, I used it to help me make sure that I planned out time for big projects in my schedule.

You are entered into the drawing for June and the Mystery Journal which I will be giving away at the end of this month.
