Jumbo Ebi Fry season is back. 🍤

Black tiger shrimp, lightly battered and tossed in fresh nama panko, fried to a crispy golden brown — the kind of crunch you can hear before you taste it.

Two ways to have it: Ebi Fry Teishoku (five pieces with rice, miso soup, salad, and our homemade remoulade) or Ebi Fry & Sashimi, the same five pieces alongside fresh ahi.

Here now through October 31, dine-in or takeout, at all three locations — Niu Valley, King Street, and Pearl City.

25 years of wishes coming true. 🎋

At our Pearl City location, co-owner Tom Jones chatted with James Donnelly from Make-A-Wish Hawaii Make-A-Wish Hawaii, tanabata wish papers in hand, to talk about something close to our hearts this season.

The tradition: write a wish on paper, hang it on the bamboo tree, and hope it comes true. This year, we’re taking that spirit further — for every Tanabata special you order, Gyotaku is donating $1 to Make-A-Wish Hawaii to help grant wishes for kids facing critical illness right here at home.

As James put it: it’s wishes on the tree, and wishes coming true in Hawaii. That’s a combination we’re proud to be part of, especially as we celebrate 25 years.

All three Gyotaku locations are celebrating our 25th anniversary — and today we’re marking it at Pearl City with our Tanabata Star Festival wish tree, joined by the Cherry Blossom Festival Hawaii Blossom Queen Aime and Princess Jacqueline.

Today marks 25 years of Gyotaku. 🎉

Twenty-five years of sushi, shrimp tenpura, and a whole lot of ohana. We could not have made it this far without the people who’ve been in it with us since day one — our team, our guests, and the vendors who show up for us again and again.

Case in point: some of our vendors took the time to send us a happy anniversary message, and it genuinely made our day. Thank you for being part of this milestone with us — it means more than you know.
