Lake Superior was kind today and allowed Capt. Tim to find and rescue Alex, who had gotten swept out approximately 2 1/2 miles after paddleboarding from Agate Beach.
When Grand Marais EMS was originally contacted, they reached out to Capt. Tim for assistance on the water. In 3 to 4-foot waves, the black cap Alex had on was the very first thing Capt. Tim spotted.
Huge thanks to Grand Marais EMS and Capt. Tim for their quick response, sharp eyes, and for bringing Alex back safe! 💙

Good Monday evening,

Blueberry Festival 2026
August 14, 15 & 16.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered at the Blueberry pie making today. We fell short by 10 pies because of the power outage due to storms.
Only 390 BB pies were built and froze. They will be baked just before the festival.
Anyone who wants to volunteer their family members for the festival, please comment here.
Just an hour or two is what we need.
i.e.
Blueberry breakfast
Souvenir tent
Fish bowl
Set up
Take down
Amongst other duties....
