This room is proof that a floor plan can change everything!

When we first started this project, my client hoped to keep her existing sofa. But once we looked at the room as a whole, it became clear that the layout was doing more of the heavy lifting than any individual piece of furniture.

One of my favorite parts of design is helping clients see possibilities they hadn’t considered yet.

By rethinking the seating plan, we were able to create so many more ways for this family of four to actually use the room. There’s space to gather, spread out, put your feet up, or pull up a seat when friends come over. Even the bench gets plenty of use during parties and family get-togethers.

Little lamps will always find their way into my designs. There’s just something about that soft glow that makes a space feel instantly more welcoming, and this little star was the perfect finishing touch for this project.

I’m convinced every room needs a cute lamp. It’s one of my favorite things to source because it adds just the right amount of personality. This one is the perfect contrast to the soft, tonal backdrop of Farrow & Ball’s Elephant’s Breath (one of my favorite paint colors!)

This room is a good reminder that cozy doesn’t have to mean cluttered.

One of my favorite parts of this transformation is how much warmth we added without adding a lot of “things.” The romantic light fixture helps anchor the pitched ceilings and brings a softness to the room, while the brass lamps add contrast to keep it feeling fresh.

I always love layered neutrals, vintage art, and the way they worked together here to create a sense of calm. Even the decision to use motorized linen shades instead of drapery helped keep the look feeling tailored and intentional.

The last days of school always have me dreaming about slower afternoons, soaked towels, and long pool days!

This pool house was one of those spaces with good bones but not much personality. It started as a very simple structure and became a cozy, durable hangout spot that works just as well for watching the kids swim as it does for catching a game with friends.

One of my favorite reminders in design is that comfort often comes from texture more than “stuff.” We added a linen-look vinyl wall covering, an earthy outdoor rug, and slipcovered swivel chairs that can handle real life. The oversized artwork and lamp help blur the line between indoor and outdoor living.

Now it feels less like an outdoor room and more like an extension of the home.

A comfortable chair. Natural light. A few meaningful pieces. And enough breathing room to think.

This space is one of my favorites because it feels calm without feeling empty. The oversized mirror enlarges the space and quietly reflects the greenery outside. Throughout the day the light changes the entire mood of the room.
