Hello all.

My truck is back to operational.

My goal the rest of this season is to earn enough to offset the materials and repair costs, and then reassess my business going into 2027.

For the rest of 2026, my focus needs to be on larger events and venues where sales are more guaranteed. While I wish I could maintain my original model of providing weekday lunches, it's just too unpredictable. I'm also finding what a lot of other restaurant owners are experiencing, which is an overall dip in sales this year compared to previous years.

My website has a list of the events I'm currently signed up to serve. And I'll try to be Town Cove Tap House Fridays and Saturdays whenever possible.

Due to the forecast for rain today, United We Dance will be held indoors at the Harwich Cultural & Municipal Building, 204 Sisson Road, Harwich.

It is very tough, but I'm trying to focus on gratitude, friends. Today was dark. But...
I have a great mechanic who continues to diagnose and repair the daisy-chain of problems. (I know folks might balk at me saying I have a good, honest mechanic, but it's true!)
I have a lovely group of folks at Hyannis Transmission II researching and sourcing difficult to find parts. I even had a guy on the West Coast help me get info.
I was given kind reassurance from another parts guy that Workhorse chassis work REALLY reliably when all is well, but are an absolute nightmare for parts and installation.
The continued words of support from my customers help.
Let me assure any event organizers whom I contact with the news I won't be able to do your event: multiply your disappointment by 1000 and you'll be a fraction as upset as I am. I have worked diligently for years to build a place in my community as a reliable business owner with delicious food, large portions, and good prices. The issues with my vehicle's transmission are not a reflection of my hard-earned reputation.
I have never been good at relinquishing control. This is an enormous test, and I'm not sure I'm succeeding. Please know I'm sleepless every night and sad every day. I am grateful to all who read this. 🧡💙

Well friends, thanks for your input and words of support (if you're not up to date, take a look at my last post).
Here's where we stand:
*The owner of the build company 100% lied. This torque converter is date stamped 2021. My truck is a 2008 manufacture year, and the build company had possession of the vehicle in/around 2021. So the "We didn't do any transmission work on that vehicle" text I received is a total lie. (And this is not the first lie I had caught them out on)
* A 2021 part should not have failed this early, considering the extremely low mileage I put on it. The reason it burned out was likely a slow transmission fluid leak, which the dipstick didn't accurately indicate (I am good about regular fluid checks and maintenance). So that's another "not me" problem. - I have no issue admitting when I'm wrong. Honestly I wish it was me.
*I am guardedly optimistic I will be operational within the week, although this has been a longer and more expensive repair than any of us could have anticipated
*Being a neurodivergent woman in this industry can SUCK. I speak clearly and accurately, but professionally. There is no way a man would have said to another man in this situation "I wish you could sound just a little kinder." Dudes, seriously consider either SAYING that or having that SAID to you in a business setting. Then remember this is the BS half the population has to deal with.

I know this rails negative, but it's been a sh*te month.
I just want to cook food!!

I still can't drive the truck, but I can cook!

I'm going to be open Tuesday and Wednesday 11:30-2:30 at my home location.

Well friends, it's not great.

The stove is fixed, but I currently can't get it to move...

My truckles needs a new torque converter. It's a big, expensive, time consuming job. I'm not a happy chef.

All effort is going into getting back on the road, but I just don't know when.
