Thank you to Roast Magazine for awarding us a Finalist recognition for Roaster of the Year 2027!

Roasters are judged on coffee quality through blind cuppings by professional judges, sustainability practices, employee and community education, industry involvement, and commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Congrats to our fellow finalists, we're honored to be in your company, and to everyone out there roasting their hearts out.

✨We're excited to announce that Dean's Beans has taken home a Bronze metal and two Finalist recognitions in the 2026 Global Coffee Awards!

The Bronze winner, our Honduran Manos de Mujer (“A Woman’s Hands”) is from a women-led producer group that grows all of the Honduran coffee we sell. (Beth, Brendan and Elena were in Honduras earlier this year and had the pleasure of meeting many of the women who grow this amazing coffee!) The coffee comes to us through our partnership with COMSA in Honduras.

Judges from GCA say our Manos de Mujer has a sweet, luscious character layered with baking spice and nuttiness with tasting notes of lemon, passion fruit, milk chocolate and blueberry. We're offering it as a Limited Edition! If unique, fruity and layered coffee is your thing, give it a try! Even if it's not, give it a try anyway! You will be pleasantly surprised.

And our Finalist in TWO categories: Our beloved Guatamalan CafĂŠ Maravillas!

"Behind every cup of coffee lies a story of hard work, knowledge and connection to the land." United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

Dean's Beans chooses not to source coffee from large commercial farms. Instead, we work with 11 cooperatives, most often made up of Indigenous peoples working hard to maintain their culture and lifestyle in a rapidly changing world. We partner in ways that support environmental and economic resilience for smallholder farmers and their communities.

100% of our coffee is certified FAIR TRADE, which ensures farmers receive fair compensation and provides economic stability and opportunity.

Coffee, community, and connections! ☕🌎 We had a great visit to Dean's Beans Organic Coffee Company, where Brendan gave us a behind-the-scenes tour, talking about the company’s commitment to making a difference locally and around the world through organic fair-trade coffee.

That commitment has a very real impact at ILI. Through the Dean’s Beans Organic Scholarship, students from ILI’s Free English Program have the opportunity to continue into our Intensive English Program, increasing their hours of English study.

One of those students is Grasia from Honduras, who joined us for the tour. And what a connection! The bags of coffee beans behind us in this photo came from the COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala S.A.), the company where Grasia works in Honduras—in fact her father is the manager of COMSA. Fresh coffee from COMSA has been roasted at Dean’s Beans for over ten years. We even had the chance to taste coffee grown on Grasia’s family farm, La Perla Azul (The Blue Pearl) in Honduras.

Dean’s Beans also supports our Free English Program by providing coffee for our weekly coffee hour, where students can practice English, get to know one another, and build community.

Thank you to Dean’s Beans for supporting ILI students in so many ways—and to Brendan for a terrific tour!

And stay tuned—we’ll be sharing more of Grasia’s story soon. ☕❤️

✌🏽❤️☕️

This is a cause that’s very dear to us and one we’ve been involved with since 2012. Grounds for Health finds ways to ensure more and more women gain access to life-saving care through screening and innovative treatment programs.

Every two minutes, a woman dies of cervical cancer in coffee-growing communities, yet it's a nearly 100% treatable disease. Women in the coffeelands are no more susceptible to the disease, they simply do not have access to screening and treatment. Grounds for health is changing that.

Our Annual Green Coffee Auction is LIVE — now until Thursday at 6PM EST!

Coffees from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Guatemala, and Honduras round out the 21 total lots available, all courtesy of donors like Genuine Origin, Coffee Shrub, La Minita, Sustainable Harvest, Balzac Brothers, InterAmerican, and more.

Bid now on exceptional coffees and support women's health programs: www.gfhauction.org
