After a lot of reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Bard & Butter for the foreseeable future.
When our kitchen sustained significant water damage, I fully intended to reopen once everything was repaired and continue on as before. Unfortunately, over the past year I’ve had to come to terms with the reality of my chronic illness. Even after scaling the bakery back, I realized that running a business simply isn’t sustainable for my health right now. The decision wasn’t easy, and my heart is so full of gratitude for everyone who supported me along the way.
Although I’m closing this chapter, my desire to serve the community hasn’t changed. Instead I’ll be putting my energy into a new neighborhood project: a Free Little Pantry & Library. My hope is that this will bring neighbors together, provide a little extra support when it’s needed, and help build the kind of caring community I believe in.
