A little bit of dark drama in the middle of August.

I truly love this cake and all her dramatic details.

Hey bakers, what do you do when you don’t get feedback?

This beautiful wedding cake was picked up for a wedding the next day. Everything was as requested and properly assembled so my clients could transport themselves.

I’ve reached out a couple of times and haven’t gotten any responses back.
Of course it’s made me go over and over every single detail from baking to decorating to assembly and sure enough I’ve done everything that was asked of me.

My hope is that they loved and enjoyed their cake and have just been insanely busy with life to get back to me. But I also hope that if their cake wasn’t up to par they would let me know, that’s the main reason I check in with every single client.

Hey cake babes, popping in to say hey and give you a little health/life update.

So here’s the what, when, and why, solutions and how they affect you.

The current what, is my heart.
Earlier this summer it became clear that my resting heart rate was unusually high.
I saw a cardiologist recently and the good news is that my heart doesn’t seem to have any issues of its own.
It is however responding to outside stresses.

I lost my day job about a year and a half ago. I won’t be going into details as that’s a whole can of worms for another day.

Anyway, that alone was cause for my stress and anxiety levels to sky rocket and it hasn’t eased up since.
I have been stuck in survival mode this whole time and have pretty much stressed my heart into Tachycardia.

In addition to my poor over worked heart I’m dealing with a plethora of other health issues that need to be addressed.

My therapist gave me homework: pivot from my life being work centered to it being health centered.

I am a chronic people pleaser, I don’t know how to say no and I am way too sentimental about things and these are a few of the things I need to address.

This won’t affect you directly, but it will affect how and what you order.

There are some menu items that I offer because I feel like you need lots of options.

Some of those items are mini cakes, cupcakes (more than a few dozen at a time) and floral cupcakes (again, more than a couple dozen at a time) and not having a minimum dollar amount for orders.

Going forward I’d like to give my attention to what I do best and enjoy creating which are buttercream florals and buttercream paintings.

I love what I do. I love creating beautiful edible art for your weddings and special occasions and I want to continue doing that for a while and I’m hoping you’ll continue to support me through these transitions.

But please message me if you have a 9-5 hookup, especially with the state that offers health benefits and paid vacation. ( I am legit serious about this one)

This babe went out a couple weekends ago to celebrate Elizabeth and Drew.

The bride reached out and said, I have a topper and wood flowers but need help making it all a bit fancy and sparkly.
