Happy Mother’s Day!
We have a newsletter that includes a section called “The Extra Shot” where I give myself 10 minutes or so to write down whatever is on my mind that week (as it pertains to the truck, which is everything these days.)
This is what I wrote this week:
Reflecting a lot this week on our matriarchs, and realizing (again) that they are the people who have influenced both of us the most.
Something that most folks don’t know is that Loose Wheel is named after my grandma Lucille, a wonderfully creative and eclectic woman who called herself loose wheel so often she used it as her instagram handle.
I hope to represent her spirit, artistry, silliness, and joy through our products, service, and brand identity.
The thing about my grandma, and my family in general, is that they do not drink coffee. So, I added “Holly’s DC” to the menu: a crispy Diet Coke over freshly-squeezed citrus. Holly is my mom, but that drink is a tribute for all the mom’s that raised me (and got me hooked on diet coke at a VERY young age.)
