My husband's sister had her wedding at the lake house my late grandmother left me and turned both the yard and the house into a garbage dump — so I gave her a wedding gift she'd never forget.
My husband's sister, Kelsey, had always been an incredibly entitled person. I usually stayed out of it because I figured it wasn't my business.
Until this happened.
Kelsey was getting ready for her wedding, but two days before the ceremony, she came to me and said:
"The restaurant where my wedding was supposed to be held FLOODED. It's wedding season, so there are NO venues available for that date. I really need your lake house! It would be perfect for my wedding!"
That lake house had belonged to my late grandmother before she left it to me.
It was where Grandma planted flowers, sewed decorative pillows for the couch by hand, and made pancakes for me in that kitchen. I take care of the house and do everything I can to keep it exactly the way she left it.
So I was against the idea.
But my husband begged me to help Kelsey because "we're family," and his sister desperately needed someone to save her wedding.
So I agreed.
I was supposed to attend the wedding, but early that morning, my aunt was suddenly rushed to the hospital. I ended up missing the entire celebration because I went to be with her.
The next day, I returned to the lake house and nearly fainted.
The flowers from my grandmother's garden had been ripped out and used to decorate a WEDDING ARCH.
Trash was scattered all over the backyard and throughout the house. Plastic cups, snack wrappers, and champagne bottles were lying everywhere. The kitchen looked like one giant garbage dump.
The lawn was completely destroyed, as if heavy tables had been dragged across it and people had danced on it all night.
I called Kelsey, demanded to know what had happened, and told her she needed to clean everything up and restore EVERYTHING EXACTLY THE WAY IT HAD BEEN.
She laughed and said:
"It was MY WEDDING, so I did whatever I wanted. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK. Instead of wasting your time calling me, you should've already started cleaning."
I'd had enough.
I knew EXACTLY how to teach Kelsey a lesson.
I sent her a SPECIAL box as a wedding gift.
That evening, she called me screaming:
"YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! NO!"
