After 2 months of not cooking competition bbq, I decided to make a long trip to Troy, IL to compete in the Smoke N for the kids double.

It was a great contest for a good cause. Enjoyed getting to meet the folks that you only see on social media from other parts of the country.

The results were not what I was hoping but the rust showed in not competing for 2 months.

Day 1 finished 7th overall
7th place Say My Name BBQ Products chicken
9th place Sweet Meat Butcher Shop rib

Day 2 finished 9th overall
8th place chicken
9th place rib

Cooked the Reelin N Smokin contest yesterday at Ditto Landing! The last few contest I’ve really struggled getting my ribs to score. Made some tweaks to recipe and finished with a 3rd placeSweet Meat Butcher Shop rib!!! Hopefully I can keep it moving in the right direction!!

I guess I focused too much on the ribs and chicken tanked out this week finishing 22nd. Finishing 10th overall out of 31 team.

Congratulations to Big Fluff BBQ on the GC!!! Ole boy is on fire !! And Rollin Smoke BBQ for the RGC!!!

A little late posting this weekend’s results, but what a great time we had this weekend in Gadsden,AL at Smoke on the falls.

We had a good cook and put some good food in the boxes! We came out with a 4th place Say My Name BBQ Products chicken 🐔!! These products continue to put us in the hunt each contest!!

We overshot our ribs this weekend and ended up with a 17th place rib. Thanks to Sweet Meat Butcher Shop for sending us some hammers! Hate I didn’t do my part on them !!

We ended up with an 8th place overall! Congrats to Budget BBQ on the GC! And Pork Life Competition BBQ Team on the RGC!
