Yesterday I went to an event for the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and to honor the victims and first responders of the attack. I went as a member of Norfolks Legion Post 335 (not the truck but as a person in our community). I heard someone speak that was in the towers that day and heard about the chaos and fear. I saw our local fire department wearing the full gear they had on them when they climbed up to 110 flights of stairs and I got to wear the hoses for a few minutes. I’ll just say it was very heavy. But what I heard about most was what the country was like on 9/12. And I remember it distinctly. All of us in this country checked in our neighbors, supported our local and NY police and fire departments, we prayed for survivors and we came together as a nation. On the 25th Anniversary I challenge everyone to do something kind today, get to know your neighbors and community and connect with people. Make today the day to give back and be kind. I will be at More Pig Less Cancer from 3-10 pm raising funds for pediatric cancer and I invite you all to join me. ❤️🇺🇸❤️
