The NYU Mycology Group () and FARE Collective invite you to join us for a virtual talking circle on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 pm ET!

Led by Mario Ceballos, the co-founder of the POC Fungi Community network (), we will engage in discussions about ethnomycology and modern day usage as it pertains to the growing mushroom industry and the promise to save the world with fungi that many preach about. Register via the link in bio!

This film follows 4 stories of people leading revolutions by getting back to the land: an Indigenous-owned, youth-run organic farm in Hawai’i; a Black urban grower in Kansas City running a land-farm; a female Kosher butcher in Colorado working with the Q***r community; and an Inuit community on the Arctic Coast adapting to climate change with a community garden.

💜We are Food and Racial Equity Collective (FARE).

✨Our mission is to:
*create a community for self-identified graduate students of color in the NYU Food Studies Program
*support and acknowledge each other in the context of our cultural identities, and within the respective communities to which we belong
*discuss social and political issues that directly impact communities of color collaborate through student initiated programming
*share knowledge and information both inside and beyond the Food Studies program
